Compilation of all of the inaccurate, contradictory things that Dr. Drew has said about coronavirus

Compilation of all of the inaccurate, contradictory things that Dr. Drew has said about coronavirus Well this was unexpected.

1. For what it’s worth, shortly after this video blew up over the weekend, Dr. Drew got on a live-stream and apologized. I think it’s important that you at least know that he has responded, taken some ownership and has indicated that he’s signed up for the California and New York Medical Corps. I think this is the right call and I thank him for that.

2. While I personally have not observed any threatening language or behavior, Dr. Drew has stated that he and his family have been receiving threats. I ask all of you to please use restraint. It is perfectly acceptable to be upset or angry. It is not acceptable to threaten the safety of Dr. Drew or his family. Ever. Plus, everyone needs to be staying six feet apart anyway!

3. I do believe Dr. Drew’s words were irresponsible, regardless of any good intention behind them, and were a probable source of confirmation bias if not strong influence for at least some people who did not take the public health directives as seriously as they should have. But, if I’m being honest, I’m not sure what sending him tens of thousands of tweets does to amend that misbehavior. And so I challenge you all to be proactive with your frustration. Offer to get groceries for people you know who are in high-risk categories. Reach out (virtually, of course) to friends and family who you haven’t had a chance to connect with in some time. Don’t hoard toilet paper. Challenge mistruths in real time. Make “experts” earn your trust and remind them that it is not to be taken for granted. Support health care personnel, essential workers and those who are struggling due to loss of income and STAY HOME unless absolutely necessary. We’ll eventually get through to the other side – with clean hands and open hearts.
