The threat of community outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic is looming over India along with many countries across the globe. The world obviously does not have adequate supplies of the necessary medical equipment and life support systems to cope with this kind of threat. Unicept Engineering and Incredior Technologies Pvt Ltd Bhopal (M.P.) here is sharing an open source design of a BVM Emergency Ventilator along with the 3D Printable files for the ventilator and other relevant details to facilitate the manufacturing of ventilators wherever necessary.
The design of BVM Emergency Ventilator has the following to offer to any individual/company who is willing to manufacture them for a medical emergency like this,
• Portable Design
The design presented here is made so that it provides the best ease to carry it from one place to another.
• 3.5 Hours of Battery Back up
Assuming that a good quality Li-Ion battery is used (with same standards as Incredior’s own brand Incredior Energy), the ventilator should provide a battery backup of 3.5 hours in a single charge.
• Cost Effective
With good materials and sub-components being used, the estimated cost of this project is ₹10000
• Easy to Assemble
The ventilator is designed such that it is easy to manufacture as well as easy to assemble.
