NBC News contributor Dr. Joseph Fair, a virologist, tells TODAY that new reports suggesting that the coronavirus can be spread by breathing and talking come from “an abundance of caution” and reinforce the wearing of face coverings. “We are learning more about this as we go on,” he says. He says the scariest thing about the virus is that “you cannot diagnose symptomatically,” but says a loss of taste and smell is one good indication.
