In 62 A.D. Mount Vesuvius erupted after being triggered by a massive Earthquake. The volcanic eruption was so deadly that in seconds an entire city was blanketed in ash. There was no escape, and the bodies of the dead were perfectly preserved like ancient mummies. We're talking about the city of Herculaneum, a Roman getaway that ended up being a final resting place for many, when Mount Vesuvius erupted.
