Kia Ora from Auckland, New Zealand! We are '4 Strings Sing', a group of music and ukulele lovers who met at Sonia's Meetup weekly classes:
As we had been unable to continue our weekly Sunday group lessons in person recently due to Covid19 restrictions, we have been meeting online instead (via Zoom) and decided to collaborate on a ukulele orchestra singalong song to share with our friends and family...
So here it is, our first venture in the world of at-a-distance collaboration and, in Sonia's case, video editing!
The idea and most of the lyrics for this adapted cover song came from an inspired member of our group, Lesley Abell: "Shop for the Bare Necessities" is based on the song "The Bare Necessities" from the Jungle Book (written by Terry Gilkyson in 1967). Sonia Wilson and Nigel Gavin helped to adapt and develop Lesley's lyrics into the current version.
Thanks to Lesley for planting this beautiful seed and to all those featured in this video for their good will and efforts in making this song come to life!
Our lovely logo at the start of the video was designed by Sonia mother Karen Sheckler Wilson who is a graphic designer living in Paris, France:
