I'm back!
It's been a while, hasn't it? Not the first time my channel has taken such a long break, but it hasn't been in vain! I'm back with more than just music - stay tuned for the second video today where I'll be announcing a pretty huge project with Izzybrownie, the artist who did the art for this video! I think you're all gonna love it. I'm also gearing up to release a few new releases, including a Two Door Cinema Club-inspired collaboration with 4EverfreeBrony, a project with UndreamedPanic, and much more! Now that I'm back, I'd like to focus on more timely releases, rather than the sporadic, occasional songs I've been more-or-less infamous for up to this point. My goal, starting with this video, is to release a song every month! If you wanna hear even more stuff, I upload WIPs and collaborations to my Patreon early as well, so there's a lot to check out there!
Let's talk about the elephant in the room - the art. So, you'll notice that it's not a pony. This isn't to say that I'm done with MLP music, but rather that I'm hoping to expand my work to encompass pretty much anything I feel inspired by, whether that's video games, fandom themes, or just regular songs. Whatever the case, I've decided to go the Kanye Bear/Ken Ashcorp/Studio Killers route and give myself a proper music mascot! He was designed by my ever-present muse and partner Andy, and Izzy will be doing art for most future videos, as well as the banner and my new icon, which I'll be adding with my next video - I figured it would probably be wise to hold off on changing everything at once, especially considering knowing Youtube's algorithm it's already gonna be difficult getting my videos seen at all for a while. Whatever the case, I hope you guys are as excited for this new era of my channel as I am!
So onto this song - it's a pretty low-key tune considering it's the first one in months, but I figured there was no better way to come back than my classic piano ballad: it's pretty much my MO at this point. I wrote this song as a way to explore the ideas of love as worship - certainly a dangerous and powerful force. Love for that which is unattainable, unrequited and self-destructive is a theme I've explored before, but I wanted to write a song in which I really dug deep into that mindset. Hopefully I've done a good job!
Thanks to all of you, again, for sticking with me through these last 6 and a half years. Looking back over my work so far, I'm proud of all of it, but I feel ready to take on a new challenge and look to the future as well. My more frequent music schedule, along with the project I'll be announcing in my other video today, will hopefully mark the beginning of a new adventure for me as well as all of you!
