Measures being considered to help safely reopen workplaces included staggered shift times and reduced hot-desking, according to a draft Government plan.

Since the coronavirus lockdown conditions were first imposed on March 23, most of the nation’s office workers have become accustomed to working from home.

As part of the draft Government strategy to help businesses prepare for a return to work, seen by the BBC, recommendations include less sharing of equipment and continued maximisation of home working.

Increased hygiene procedures, the installation of protective screens and the closure of lifts and canteens are also included in the draft plans drawn up by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.
