I like the fact that LEDs have basically zero turn-on lag, another vehicle following at 60MPH has an additional 44 feet to stop if it takes a half-second for an incandescent bulb to heat up and become visible. That extra space can be crucial if the clown behind you is tailgaiting you so close you can't see his headlamps in the mirrors anymore, as so many here in Maryland, unfortunately now do.
