God’s strength stops our enemies right on the track
10. Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
Inspite of the prevailing enemies from your own family, friends, acquaintances, worldly people or sinful men, the Lord will never permit any opposing enemy to disrupt your race in life or from the will of the Lord, when
- He strengthens you with His power,
- You prolong to abide by His commands,
- You continue to rely on Him,
- You consider the Lord as your Trust,
- You are being girded with His might.
The Lord leads each of us according to His divine, expansive, eternal plan concerning us, which is far beyond ours. When you commit yourself to the Lord saying, “Lord, irrespective of the troubles, difficulties and sorrows, I will pursue your plan in my life”, the way the Lord begins to lead you from then on, is unquestionably marvelous.
Some of those whom I have observed tend to abide under God’s plan initially, but then, at the exact juncture when the Lord is about to bless them, they tend to move away from God’s plan, to pursue and fulfil their own selfish desires. But the Lord desires us to be fulfilled with His blessings abiding under His plan and purpose.
Couple of the best Biblical examples can be pondered upon…
Life of Jacob:
Though Jacob was distinctly blessed to be a blessing, he had to bear with Laban, a better deceiver than himself, who changed his wages ten times. Vexed of his behaviour, Jacob leaves Laban after toiling for 20 tough long years. Yet, Laban, symbolic of ‘worldly lusts and idolatry’, pursues Jacob, who strives to attain the Lord’s blessings. The Lord instructs Laban not to
- Speak anything evil, but only good to Jacob
- Do anything evil, but only good to Jacob
After exchanging pleasantries, finally they depart making a covenant not to harm each other beyond the heap of stones they erected as a witness.
The Lord stopped Laban from causing any harm (evil) to Jacob. Indeed,
- The Lord might have calmed the anger of his brother Esau.
- The Lord might have made him worthy of receiving the birthright at the time he was born.
- The Lord could have appeared to his father Isaac in a dream and instructed him to bless Jacob, instead of Esau.
Inspite of all these happenings, none of it stopped Jacob from fulfilling God’s plan.
But Laban’s actions were intended to stop Jacob from serving the Lord who had appeared to him. Moreover, Laban had the intention to induce Jacob into idolatry; for Rachel had stolen the idols to serve the purpose. To stop Jacob from deviating, the Lord, with all His might stood against Laban. This act of the Lord
- Rescued Jacob
- Rescued Jacob’s family
- Made room for his children to become the 12 tribes
The Lord certainly wraps up all oppositions at the juncture when it tends to deviate you away from His plan and purpose.
Daniel in lion’s den:
Daniel was cast into the lion’s den for not abiding by the King’s decree to worship him. The Lord could have
- Stopped the officials from making the decree,
- Prohibited the king from executing the decree,
- Instructed Daniel to pray in secret,
- Shown mercy during the trial,
- Written the judgement on the wall just like it happened during the reign of King Belshazzar.
Yet, the Lord manifested His might and strength at the right juncture by binding the mouths of the ferocious lions.
The Lord discerns the exact moment when He has to
- Send forth His strength
- Bind the mouth of our enemies
- Stop all those / that arising against us
- Scatter our enemies end to end
- Bring an end to all oppositions
The Lord will stop your enemy at the right juncture and bestow the blessings, life and honour due to you. He will never leave you nor forsake you, this day and in the days to come. None of His plans will be thwarted!
God bless you!
