Why I did not win NaNoWriMo (and that's okay) *(even if you cry)*

Why I did not win NaNoWriMo (and that's okay) *(even if you cry)* NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) is the time of year that we all band together and try to write our novels. I took this year to rewrite a novel I have been working on since 2016. I also wrote it in last NaNoWriMo 2019 and earlier this year. I don't know why I did this to myself.

However, I'm glad to say, sometimes, we are just too hard on ourselves about GOALS, rather than our ACTUAL WORK. I did not have the greatest work ethic because I had other, more pressing matters to deal with. Emotional and mental processing that I had been neglecting. So, rather than writing, I spent my time evaluating my thoughts and feelings to unravel what has not been sitting well.

One of the main things that has not been sitting well is my laziness. I have not liked how I am doing half the work, expecting triple the payout. I realized it is due to taking on too much, which is a hard pill to swallow, even though it is something I have struggled with my entire life.

I hope that through this video you can see how sometimes we need to accept progress as a win more than a specific goal.
