Food, pleasure and Apple Fritters! The pleasure we take in food is extremely important. Remember the 80/20 rule...the wisdom here is that it pays to eat well and healthily 80% of the time, but to also remember to take pleasure in the food you especially enjoy, even if feels like a bit of an indulgence, at least 20% of the time.

In light of Mental Health Awareness Week, the message in this video is about the good sense of enjoying "simple pleasures" in the food you cook and eat. So, keep it simple and start with a few good ingredients. Let good food do the rest to sooth, feed, delight and restore your mind and body.

Ingredients:
Vegetable oil for frying
½ cup plain flour
Good pinch salt
½ cup beer (or fizzy mineral water, or non-alcoholic beer)
1 large apple (or 2 smaller ones)
Granulated or icing sugar for dusting
Optional: Serve with greek yogurt or crème fraiche
